Church Burglary Arrest Made

After weeks of investigation, a Tullahoma man has been arrested on charges of breaking into Cedar Lane church of Christ on April 30.

Michael Cyree, 37, of Breckenbridge Drive, was arrested Friday afternoon by Investigator Ty Brazier amd charged with burglary, felony theft and vandalism. He is being held in the Coffee County Jail under $115,000 bond.

Cyree is accused of entering the church building, knocking a hole in the wall to the secretary’s office and stealing more than $20,000.

According to Lt. Jason Ferrell, the investigation into six other church burglaries is continuing and police are following up on several leads they have developed.

“Other charges are pending in the other burglaries, “ Ferrell said.

A total of seven churches have been broken into in Tullahoma. Others are Covenant Presbyterian Church on Highway 55, Trinity Lutheran Church on Wilson Avenue, Faith Lutheran Church on Bragg Circle, Westside Church of the Nazarene on Westside Drive, Kings Cross Church on Turkey Creek Road and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on the Old Shelbyville Highway.
