A Manchester man on the TBI’s Most Wanted list for the beating death of a Cowan man was arrested Tuesday in New Mexico, according to authorities.
David Gordon Jenkins, 46, of Manchester, is accused of taking part in the beating murder of Corey Matthews last March and leaving his body in a cornfield in Cowan.
A drug task force in Lea County, New Mexico, arrested Jenkins on those charges.
Jenkins has been the subject of a nationwide search since leaving the area shortly after the March 24 murder.
Three other individuals were indicted with Jenkins by the April term of the Franklin County Grand Jury for the murder of Matthews. Those indicted and held in the Franklin County Jail are Cody Keith Holmes, John Corey Lanier and Todd Dalton, all of the Manchester area. Like the other three, Jenkins is charged with one count of first-degree murder and one count of felony murder.
Jenkins and the others have connections with Aryan Nation and the Aryan Brotherhood, which are white supremacist groups, according to authorities.
Jenkins will face extradition hearings in New Mexico before being returned to face charges in Franklin County.
