No salmonella found in Tennessee eggs

Although eggs from Iowa farms have been blamed for a recent nearly nationwide salmonella outbreak, no cases linked to them have been found in Tennessee.

Shelley Walker, Tennessee Department of Health communications and marketing director, said Wednesday that none of the eggs from contaminated batches have made it to Tennessee tables.

"We haven’t identified any to be associated with the egg recall here," she said. "But it’s very common to have some salmonella cases in the state."
