THS runners compete in Cookeville

The Tullahoma High School Cross-Country team traveled to Cookeville and competed in the Cookeville Mid Week Meet on Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats had seven participants in the 5K run and were led by JuliAnna Dykes, who finished 20th tout of 55 runners. Dykes finished the 3.1-mile course in 24 minutes and 23 seconds.

Other THS runners in the girls run included: Aubree Turner (31st) at 26:44; Page Walton (32nd) clocking in at 26:51; Rebecca White (43rd) at 28:31; Leah Ross (47th) at 29:29 and Lex Maynard (53rd) finished at 36:05.

Katelyn Swindle, from Macon County, placed first overall with a time of 20:37. Haley Coudriet, from Stone Memorial, finished in second with a time of 21:11 and Isabella Dawson, from Cookeville, rounded out the top three times finishing at 21:29.

As a team, the Lady Wildcats placed sixth out of the eight teams that competed, finishing with at total time of 2:15:58, racking up 174 points.

Cookeville High School picked up the overall win, with 42 points and a total time of 1:53:49. Stone Memorial finished in second with 51 points and a time of 1:54:59. Macon County rounded out the top three scores with 75 points and a time of 1:57:39.

The Wildcats brought six runners to the Cookeville meet on Tuesday. Jacob Anders led the day for Tullahoma, clocking in with a time of 19:44 and finishing 22nd out of the 54 runners.

Other Wildcat runners included: Adam Rogers (27th) at 20:02; Jonathan Farmer (28th) clocked in at 20:15; Aaron Kelly (41st) at; 1:47, Chance Baxter (42nd) at 22:17 and Andrew Nelius (49th) finished at 23:18.

Nathan Longfellow, from Cookeville, finished first in the 5K with a time of 17:09. Marsh McRenolds and Jordan Turney, both from Cannon County, placed second and third, respectively. McRenolds finished with a time of 17:48 and Turney clocked in at 18:09.

As a team, the THS boys placed seventh out of eight teams that competed, finishing with 158 points and a total time of 1:44:05.

Cookeville picked up the overall win with 26 points and time of 1:31:26. Cannon County placed second with 67 points and a time of 1:35:09 and Friendship Christian finished in third with 99 points and a time of 1:39:23.

Conner White and Cal Rogers led the Tullahoma Middle School runners. Last Saturday in Milton, White and Rodgers finished in fifth and 21st, respectively. White finished the 1.6-mile course in 5:41.1 while Rodgers clocked in at 6:01.1.

In Cookeville on Tuesday, both runners improved as White placed third and Rodgers finished in sixth. White finished the 2-mile run at 12:55 while Rodgers timed in at 13:31.

On Saturday, the THS team will compete in the TN Classic held at Steeplechase in Nashville. Start time had not been determined by press time.
