Loudlove 2014, described as a “free concert of modern popular secular rock music with God as its theme,” has been set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Tullahoma First United Methodist Church.
The free event will be held on the First Light stage, located in the FAC building gym, 210 W. Lauderdale St.
The concert will feature popular secular rock music that has God as its central theme, according to John Cook, music director for the First Light contemporary service.
It will feature the music of such artists as U2, Bob Dylan, King’s X, Tom Petty, Creed, the Doobie Brothers and many others.
“I am so proud to be able to bring this concert event to the community,” said Cook. “I have assembled a stellar group of musicians from three different churches and put together a program that will definitely rock the house. Except in this case, it’s God’s house.”
The musicians and vocalists include Brad and Asa Brinkley, Mike and Will Rudder, Joe Bailey, Anson Hohne, Darren Kraabel, Rick Lee, Sharon Austell, Bertha Smith and Cook.
The concert is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. Guests of all ages, faiths and backgrounds are invited, according to Cook.
“We are so exited to be able to do this concert for Tullahoma. We are bringing in some amazing talent and I really think folks will be blown away,” said Cook. “This will definitely not be a ‘hands folded in your lap’ kind of concert. It’s going to be intense and it’s going to rock. It will be loud, proud and in the name of Jesus.”
