DAR welcomes state regent to luncheon

The Tullahoma Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) welcomed State Regent Cecile Wimberley to the Jan.13 luncheon at Lakewood Golf and Country Club.

Her program titled “Looking Ahead - NSDAR and TSDAR 2019-2022," revealed one of her statewide projects for providing insulated mat barriers for the homeless population in Tennessee during the winter months.

For example, her “bedroll project” includes DAR members collecting plastic bags, cutting them into strips and rolling the strips into balls.

At designated times, members across the state will convene; those who crochet or knit will produce the mats to go underneath bed rolls.
