Daylong leadership summit prepares students for future

One hundred Tullahoma High School students participated in a daylong Leadership Summit held May 19 at the school.

THS instructor and Renaissance program sponsor Shannon Duncan began holding summits when she transferred to THS from the Coffee County school three years ago.

“When I started here, I saw a lot of opportunity.  A lot of students were doing great things, but there was not a lot of opportunity for them to cross paths with each other.  I wanted something to foster that.”

So Duncan sent a memo to classroom teachers, club sponsors, and coaches asking them to identify students who show leadership among their peers.   Those identified were invited to join the conference-style summit.
