Diabetes Academy set for Oct. 29 at Harton

Certified diabetes educator Tonya Swoape will present a free “Diabetes Academy” from 4-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Harton Regional Medical Center’s private dining room.

The event is part of the city’s ongoing Get Fit! Tullahoma program. Swoape will present an overview of diabetes, management of diabetes, tips for a healthy diet and staying active. Swoape will also be available to answer questions.

change these grim statistics, and this is one opportunity to learn more about diabetes – how to avoid, recognize, and manage the disease state.”

“It is extremely important to educate people about the help that is available,” said Swoape, CDE.
