Faith Lutheran Church of Tullahoma recently announced the installation of their 14th vicar, Patrick Fertitta.
Fertitta is a third year student at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. At the conclusion of his internship next summer, he will return to seminary for one more year of study before he is ordained and begins a ministry in a Lutheran parish. While here he will serve under the capable supervision of Rev. Martin Nutter
Fertitta is a native of Shreveport, La., where his family owns and operates a restaurant, Fertitta’s Delicatessen & Imported Foods, which has been in business since 1927.
He is the first in his family to graduate from a private institution of higher education, Centenary College of Louisiana, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in economics and finance. After graduation, he worked in the family business for about six years, and was also self-employed. He also owns a wine and spirits brokerage /marketing company called FPR Wines & Spirits, where he acts as a liaison between Anheiser Busch Eagle Distributing and a portfolio of wineries and distilleries selected by his company for promotion and distribution in the state of Louisiana.
“After graduating from Centenary I struggled greatly with what my future life would be like and found that church work was where I was happiest. When I spent time teaching Bible studies to the youth, working on Vacation Bible School, and as a (church) elder I found more joy than I could have imagined,” said Fertitta.
