The Beechcraft Heritage Museum has announced its annual Scot Perry Air Academy Aviation Day Camp will be held June 4-5 at the museum, 570 Old Shelbyville Highway.

Activities will include a museum tour; sessions on the “theory of flight;” building two types of balsa aircraft, followed by flight competitions; an introduction to powered radio-controlled model airplane flight; and an opportunity to fly a radio-controlled model airplane.

Lunch will be provided.

Enrollment is limited to 16 participants from the ages of 10 to 14. Based on the receipt of applications, participants will be selected by a drawing and previous participants will be considered if space is available.

There is no charge for the camp, but a fully refundable $20 deposit is required with each application.

Deposits will be returned on the final day of camp to students who are selected and attend both days. Deposits will be forfeited by students who are selected and do not attend.  Students who are not selected will receive a full refund with their notification letter. All applicants will receive a letter informing them whether they have been selected.

Application forms can be found under the Schedule of Events tab on the museum’s website, www.beechcrafthm.org.

The deadline for application is May 18.
