The 45th Annual Al-Anon/Alateen Area 52 Convention is set for Sept. 14 – 15, at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville.

Al-Anon is a worldwide nonprofit organization providing “hope and help” for the families and friends of alcoholics. Alateen is a part of the Al-Anon Family Groups, serving younger family members and friends.

“The event is solely to bring together, for fellowship and fun, those who are affected by someone else’s drinking,” said publicity chairperson Sheryll B. “Over the two-day period, there are workshops, meetings and speakers who share their experiences, strength and hope.”

Though this is a statewide annual event, it is held in Middle Tennessee only once every three years, with East and West Tennessee also taking hosting turns.

TN Area 52 covers the entire state of Tennessee and parts of Georgia, Mississippi and Kentucky.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) will also participate in the event, hosting evening meetings on site.

Registration for the event costs $25. Those who wish to attend the Saturday, Sept. 15 evening banquet pay an additional $25.
