The Salvation Army is getting into the Christmas spirit and gearing up to spread a little extra holiday cheer for those in need. The organization’s Angel Tree Program will be holding sign-ups this Thursday at the First Christian Church Annex from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and again at 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Parents are required to bring a photo identification card as well as proof of Tullahoma residency, such as a current utility bill.

Children in kindergarten up to 8th grade are eligible for The Angel Tree Program. Sign-ups will be limited to the first 200 children.

The cards filled out on Thursday will contain a listing of the children’s clothing sizes, as well as a couple of interests for each child. Parents are allowed to list specific needs for their children on the cards if they need one item more than others.

Last year, The Salvation Army’s program helped 872 children in Coffee County. The organization was assisted by First Christian Church, St. Paul’s Church, Chick-Fil-A, Traders Bank and Tyson in Shelbyville.

First Christian Church is located at 201 NW Atlantic St. For more information, contact Pam Bussell at 931-455-2200.
