Tullahoma’s newest chief of police officially began his duties on Monday, and the public will have the opportunity to welcome him to town before the next meeting of the Tullahoma Board of Mayor and Aldermen.

The city board is inviting the public to a special reception for Tullahoma Chief of Police Jason Williams from 5 to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, just before its next regular meeting.

The reception will take place inside the board chambers room upstairs at city hall, 201 W. Grundy St. Light refreshments will be served.

This reception will allow anyone interested in meeting the newest head of the Tullahoma Police Department to do so, according to city officials. The chief of police is a vital position to Tullahoma’s operations, according to Mayor Lane Curlee.

“I have enjoyed getting to know Chief Williams over the last few weeks, and I am confident he will be a great contributor to Tullahoma,” he said.
