Tullahoma Firefighter Chris DeTeresa rings the bell on the vintage fire truck during the annual 9/11 memorial ceremony last year. This year’s ceremony is set to take place on Wednesday morning.

Wednesday morning, the Tullahoma Fire Department will host its annual remembrance ceremony for their fallen friends outside Fire Hall 1 on South Jackson Street.

TFD invites the community to attend the ceremony, which will begin at 7:30 a.m. this Wednesday, Sept. 11, the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City.

TFD has gathered to pay tribute to the 343 firefighters who perished the day of the attacks with a solemn memorial ceremony each year.

The program will begin with remarks by city officials, including Tullahoma Fire Chief Richard Shasteen and feature a moment of silence for the 343 firefighters who lost their lives.

Those interested in memorializing with the department are invited and encouraged to attend. Fire Hall 1 is located at 613 S. Jackson St.
