Lakeway Publishers made a $550 donation to Motlow State Community College this past week, the funds earmarked for helping achieve student success at the institution for higher learning.

The check, presented personally by Lakeway Publishers of Middle Tennessee Vice President Brian Blackley and Lakeway Publishers advertising director Joe Martin, was made as result of the cooperative effort between the college and Lakeway in the recent publication of Motlow’s 50th anniversary magazine entitled “Motlow State Community College – Past. Present. Future”.

The magazine, which has been nominated for a state press award for best special edition, celebrates Motlow’s storied past, in words and pictures, detailing the efforts in the founding and growing of the community college. The publication also looks at the contemporary learning atmosphere on campus and the satellite campuses that have grown out of the original college. The magazine also details plans for the future and where Motlow hopes to go during the next 50 years. A limited supply of the free magazines are available at the Tullahoma News and at Motlow campus.

On hand to accept the donation were Terri Bryson, MCC vice president of external affairs and workforce innovation, and Scott Shasteen, MCC director of communications and media relations.
