It’s not every day customers can purchase a game that is based on their hometown and play it with friends and family.  Now Tullahoma residents have this chance.

Tullahoma Walmart has a version of Monopoly called Tullahoma-Opoly which is in stock for a limited time.  The game board consists of well-known locations in Tullahoma like the Hands on Science Center, University of Tennessee Science Institute, The Celtic Cup Coffee House, Tullahoma High School and many more.  Some of the other spaces include Traffic Jam, which replaces the Jail space, and the railroads from the Monopoly game are replaced by the main streets in Tullahoma, like Jackson Street and Lincoln Street. The game cards also make reference to Tullahoma landmarks.

Mark Kelly, manager of the local Walmart store, said the vendor, Late for the Sky, came to them and asked if they would like to sell a version of Monopoly based on Tullahoma – an offer Walmart accepted. Kelly revealed the local store has sold half of their shipment thus far and planning on selling them until the end of Christmas.  The game has been in stock since Sept. 1 and is only going to be available for the holiday season. It is presently displayed on an end rack in the game section of the Tullahoma store.

Late for the Sky specializes in creating custom Monopoly games for communities, non-profits, and corporations.  They also make other varieties of specialized games based on dogs, college teams, and activities like fishing and hunting.

Nashville and Murfreesboro had their own versions of the game made last year.
