women impacting the community

Guests at last year’s Women Impacting the Community luncheon, sponsored by the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce, gather for a group photo. This year’s event will be held at the Lakewood Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, April 9. The chamber will accept nominees for this year’s awards through Monday, April 1.

The Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking nominations for the fifth annual Women Impacting the Community luncheon, chamber officials announced.

The annual celebration, hosted in conjunction with SmartBank, recognizes the many contributions women in the community have made for the Tullahoma area through their employers and on their own.

“We are so excited once again to be partnering with the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce on this wonderful event to recognize women in our community that have created a positive impact,” said James Fuller of SmartBank. “There are so many women that are well deserving of recognition, and this event is a wonderful way of honoring a few for their service to this great community.”

Women are recognized in four different categories: business, education, community service and lifetime achievement.

Past winners have included business owners, nonprofit directors, lifelong volunteers and more, with well-known names in the community honored for their commitment to making the Tullahoma area a better place to live, work and thrive.

Last year’s winners were Ginny Wilson of Water’s Edge Chocolates (business), Ginger Ennis of 5 Loaves 4 Kids (community service), Brenda Cannon of Motlow (education) and Fran Gray (lifetime achievement).

This year’s keynote speaker for the event will be Rosie Graham.

According to Michael Reid, the chamber’s marketing and communications director, those wishing to nominate the outstanding women in their lives for consideration have until next Monday, April 1, to do so.

Those who wish to attend the luncheon are encouraged to contact the chamber and reserve their seats early, Reid said.

“Space is limited and the number of reservations continues to grow,” he said.

Tickets for the lunch are $25 per person, Reid said. The deadline for seat reservations is next Friday, April 5. The luncheon will take place at noon on Tuesday, April 9, at the Lakewood Golf & Country Club, 1900 Country Club Drive.

For more information, to make a nomination or to reserve your seat at the luncheon, contact the chamber by phone at 931-455-5497 or visit the chamber website at www.tullahoma.org.
