Tullahoma City Schools will host a farewell reception for former director of schools Dan Lawson on Sunday, Dec. 2.

Lawson announced last year that he would not be seeking an extension to his contract with the school system, then announced in April of this year that he would be leaving his post before the school year was out in order to take a professorship with Lee University in Cleveland. Lawson served as the Tullahoma City Schools’ chief administrator for more than 20 years and his successor, John Carver, took over the helm earlier this month.

The event will be held in the lobby of Tullahoma High School from 2 to 4 p.m., with special remarks scheduled for 3 p.m.
