Tullahoma Utilities Authority voted Tuesday to purchase two pickup trucks for the wastewater and electric departments, each having budgeted for the new vehicles in the 2020 fiscal year.

Two 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500s valued at $27,397 each will be purchased from Stan McNabb Automotive Group. The double cab pickup trucks include safety strobe lights and a spray in bed liner, as well as favorable features including Bluetooth capabilities, allowing employees hands-free operations of their cell phones, windows and door locks.

The new wastewater department truck will be replacing a 2005 pickup that TUA will surplus. The electric department’s new vehicle will be utilized by Allen Potter, TUA’s new Electric Engineering Supervisor.
