Haul out the holly. The 63rd Annual Tullahoma Christmas Parade sponsored by Stan McNabb Automotive is Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
“It takes a lot of work to put together a parade of the caliber that Tullahoma is used to having,” chamber member Billy Philpott said. “We started working on it two months ago.”
There are over 70 parade entries so far for this year’s parade. The chamber would like to reach 100.
“If you have not entered and plan to, please do so because the deadline to enter is Dec. 2,” Philpott said.
Applicants may enter online at www.tullahoma.org or stop by Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce building to get an application. If one wants to be judged for the music award, please indicate that on the form.
“I have been to a number of parades and aside from the big ones like Nashville, there is no town that matches Tullahoma’s parade,” Philpott said. “Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to help us out.”
For the first time, the grand marshal reception sponsored by Rodney’s Body Shop will be on Thursday instead of Friday night before the parade.
“We understand that everyone involved with the parade has a lot going on that night,” Chamber Executive Director Hope Sartain said. “So, we encourage everyone to come out on Thursday night and celebrate Mike Finn and thank him for everything that he has done for this community.”
Thursday’s reception is at 5 p.m. at South Jackson Civic Center.
