It is time for entrants to break out the tinsel, staple gun, and various decorations to finish up their floats. For the spectators, break out the lawn chairs, heavy coats, gloves, scarves and anything else that can be put on to prevent turning into an ice block.
The 63rd Annual Tullahoma Christmas Parade hosted by The Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Stan McNabb Automotive is this Friday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. The route begins at South Jackson Civic Center and stops at Tullahoma High School.
A lot of celebrating will be going on before the parade even starts. For the first time, the chamber is hosting the Tree Lighting Ceremony and Grand Marshal Reception sponsored by Rodney’s Body Shop on Thursday, Dec. 5 at South Jackson Civic Center from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Come out and celebrate Grand Marshal “Coach” Mike Finn the evening before the parade.
On Friday evening, the staging area will be on South Jackson Street between Carroll and Lauderdale Streets. No vehicles other than parade entries will be allowed in the staging area after 5 p.m.
Float judging will begin at 5:30 p.m. If a float is not in its assigned position by that time, it will not be judged. The entry arrival cut-off time is 6:30 p.m.
The participant drop-off point will be at South Jackson Civic Center. Enter from Carroll Street, right on Franklin Street, then right onto Decherd Street. The parking lot is on the right.
The participant pickup point will be the front parking lot of Tullahoma High School on North Jackson Street. Please ensure that all participants have drop-off and pickup information.
The parade command center will be located in the side parking lot of Harton Realty under a white tent.
Adults in charge of each entry should visit the chamber’s website at www.tullahoma.org and look in the “Chamber in Action” tab for all of the information about line-up numbers, times, a map of the parade line-up area as well as rules and regulations.
If there are any changes to an entry, please notify the chamber 931-455-5497. If there is an emergency, question, issue, etc. before the parade starts or during the parade, please call Hope Sartain at 931-409-0076.
Entrants must pick up their parade packet by Dec. 5. The entries must reflect the theme “Santa’s Workshop on Jackson.”
