Developers broke ground recently on a new senior living community, set to be built at the intersection of William Northern Boulevard and Cedar Lane.

Slated to open in the second quarter of 2020, Parkview Tullahoma is designed as a two-story all-inclusive apartment community aimed at active seniors who want to maintain their independence without the burdens of home ownership.

According to a preliminary site plan, the 55,000-square-foot-per-floor, 90-unit facility will sit on 8.2 acres and include a secure courtyard and small dog park for residents.

Additional on-site amenities are expected to include dining options as well as a movie theater, library, fitness center, beauty salon and barber shop, and community laundry room.

Available services are expected to include two meals per day, housekeeping, transportation to appointments and a variety of social, recreational and cultural activities.

Each apartment will be equipped with an emergency pull cord station should residents require help.

Leasing is expected to be by industry-standard one-year agreement.

Parkview Senior Living is based in Maryville.  The company will celebrate the grand opening of Parkview Knoxville, 770 Broome Road, with a ribbon cutting on May 17.

The News will have more information about this project as work progresses. Part of the work being done now is a sewer relocation project, requested due to the fact the existing main bisects the property.

The ground work is managed separately from construction. No building permit had yet been issued by Tuesday of this week.
