ROGERS, Phillip Lee, 57 of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Knight obit

KNIGHT, Mildred Louise, 96, of Moore County, passed this life on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 at her home. Mrs. Knight was born in Robertson County, Kentucky to the late John T. and Vesta Estelle Holder Huddleston. During her life, Mrs. Knight was a member of Cannan Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Grady Knight Sr.; one son, Calvin “Lynn” Knight; one daughter, Anita Knight Davenport; three sisters, Helen Evans, Mary Sue Arnold and Evelyn Banks; one brother, Thomas Ray Huddleston; one grandson, Jason Knight; one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Nichole Knight; and one niece, Betty June Lockey. Mrs. Knight is survived by three sons, Grady “Buzz” Knight Jr. and his wife Sue, of Moore County, Danny Knight and his wife, Linda, of Franklin County, and Ricky Knight, of Moore County; four daughters, Donna Wells and her husband, E.J., of Franklin County, Brenda Oliver and her husband, Jim, of Tullahoma, Sandra Richter and her husband, Dick, of Lynchburg, and Melissa Brazier and her husband, David, of Tullahoma; one sister, Christine Hodge; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Knight will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Eddie Canady and Bobby King officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with grandsons serving as pallbearers. For those who wish, the family asks that donations in Mrs. Knight’s memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. KING, Del Michael, 66, of Wartrace, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Bomar Cemetery, with Scott Byrom officiating. No visitation prior to service. Del was a retired probation and parole officer for the State of Tennessee; a member of Grandview Baptist Church- Nashville. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy for seven years and was a member of the V.F.W. He was the son of the late Clyde Calhoun King and Nina Mae Phillips King. He is survived by two brothers, Philip (Joyce) King, of Raus, James King, of Port Orange, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Hill-crest Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

SANDERS, Gerald Lee, 74 of Jasper, passed away Aug. 31, 2018 at The Bridge of South Pittsburg. SMITH, James Darryl, age 50, of Roselawn, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018 at Aperion Care in Roselawn, Indiana. He was born Jan. 7, 1968, in Tullahoma, to Walter Lee and Nellie Jo (Burt) Smith. James is survived by his mother, Nellie Jo Carlson, of DeMotte; brothers, Richard (Lissa) Smith, of Valparaiso, Indiana and David Joe (Elizabeth) Smith, of Hammond, Indiana; stepmother, Rose Smith, of Smith Grove; one stepbrother; two stepsisters; aunt, Rebecca Burt, of Tullahoma; uncles, Harry Burt and Larry (Ruth) Burt, both of Tullahoma; and many great aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Smith, and his stepfather, David Carlson. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Tullahoma Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. at the Tullahoma Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Smith Chapel Cemetery, Tullahoma. Donations can be made to the Special Olympics.
