CRAIG

CRAIG, JoAnne Craig, 65, of Kingston Springs, passed away September 8, 2018. Mrs. Craig was a kind, gentle and giving person. She had love for laughter and a servant’s heart. She worked for 43 years as a nurse for St. Thomas Hospital. She was always willing to help or lend a hand to anyone in need. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed crafts, cooking, baking and most of all spending time with her friends and family. Preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Craig; parents, Sara Weems Garner and Jeff Garner; brother, David Eugene Garner. Survived by her husband, Rodney Flippo; son, Michael Craig (Rachel); grandchild, James Preston Craig; work family at St. Thomas and many extended family members and friends. A Life Celebration will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 13. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville.  Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.

MILLER, Chester Eugene

MILLER, Chester Eugene, 82, of Shelbyville, formerly of Manchester, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2018, at the Waters of Shelbyville.  Chester was born on June 20, 1936 in Plevna, Alabama, to the late Willie Floyd Miller and Annie Bell Tant Miller. Before his retirement he was employed as a janitor for the Coffee County school system. He was also a member of the Rutledge Falls Church. Chester enjoyed fishing, grilling out, eating watermelons and visiting with people and taking them apples and oranges. But most of all, he enjoyed seeing his family and watching westerns. He will be remembered as being stubborn but he loved to tell jokes and make others laugh. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Lee Miller and Gary Miller. Chester is survived by his children, Priscilla Miller of Manchester, Rhonda (Russ) Reynolds of Tullahoma, Zindale (Angelica) Miller of Tullahoma, Mark (Jackie) Miller of Lynchburg, and Sonya Miller of Lynchburg; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Monie Bowen of Tullahoma, Marie Maxwell of Shelbyville, Rose Ellen Moorehead of Tullahoma, Linda Nelson of Tullahoma, Sarah McCart of Wartrace, and Ina Melton of Hillsboro; brothers, Bill Miller and Paul Miller both of Tullahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday, September 9, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, September 10, from the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

PATTERSON

PATTERSON, Linda Pauline Womack, 70, of Lynchburg, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.  She was born in Tullahoma on May 11, 1948, to the late J.C. and Jamie Adams Womack.  Linda owned and operated Linda’s Beauty Shop for over fifty years.   She enjoyed cooking and spending time at home and in her yard, as well as watching her granddaughters show horses. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband, James Harvel “Tomcat” Patterson.  Linda is survived by her daughter, Tonya (Bobby) Preston of Lynchburg; son, James Daryl (Kerri Huddleston) Patterson of Lynchburg; brothers, Mike (Nancy) Womack of Tullahoma, and John Womack of Lynchburg; and grandchildren, Valerie Preston and Emily Preston.  Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, September 13, at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 14, in the Jennings-Moore-Cortner Chapel with Brother John Hill officiating.  Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

WHITSETT, Arelin Mae, 73, of Murfreesboro, passed away Monday, September 10, 2018. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, September 12, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.
