Gary Wayne Hinshaw, 68, of Estill Springs, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019, at Tennova Harton Healthcare in Tullahoma.  Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Funeral Services were 10 a.m. Friday, June 14, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Mr. James Franklin Johnson, 78, of the Hubbard’s Cove Community in Grundy County, passed away Monday June 10, 2019, at the Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, with his family at his bedside. He was born in Viola, on October 26, 1940, to James Calvin and Mabel Fults Johnson who preceded him in death along with his wife, Mildred Hobbs Johnson. He was U.S. Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He was retired from Bouldin and Lawson where he served as plant manager. He also had worked at Carrier Corporation as a supervisor, Oster and Powermatic. He operated Johnson’s Exxon in Hubbard’s Cove for many years and J & J Market in Viola. He enjoyed farming and raising vegetables. He is survived by his sons, Stephen D. Fearing and James P. “J.P” (Amanda) Johnson; daughters, Cindy Myers, Sherry (Tony) Frazier and Kim (Kary) Frazier; brother, Luther Paul Johnson; grandchildren, Brad Myers, Kelcie Fearing, Eric and Christa Frazier, Heather Melton, Brittany McGee, Landon and Haley Johnson, Dylan Crawford and Jake McClain; great grandchildren, Allie and Chloe Melton, Bryce and Braxton McGee, Elissia and Jayla Frazier, Issabella and McKenna Searcy, Jaymeson and Shelbey Hale. Funeral services were 2 p.m.  Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ralph Springer officiating with burial in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Friday at Central Funeral Home. Central Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Martha LaTreive Kirkland, 70, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. A Graveside Service was held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, at Cowan Montgomery Cemetery. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Glennice Berline Graham Knott, 87, of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Gayle’s Assisted Living. Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Service was held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Freeman Dale Matlock, 67, of Estill Springs. Funeral services were conducted on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Brother Bill Williams officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery in Hillsboro. The family received friends at the funeral home on Friday prior to the service from noon to 2 p.m. Mr. Matlock passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. Freeman was born on March 7, 1952 in Coffee County. He was employed by Batesville Casket Company for over 37 years. Mr. Matlock was an avid animal lover and you never knew what animal he might be bringing home. He had a love for gardening and John Deere tractors. Freeman enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his father, A.B. Matlock; son, Christopher Dale Matlock. Survived by his mother, Mavis Medley Matlock; wife, Vickie Foster Matlock; sons, Devon Dale Matlock (Jennifer), Joshua Bryan Matlock (Cortney Clark); daughter, Lisa Matlock; brothers, Robert Wayne Matlock (Sandra), Calvin Clay Matlock, Roger Dale Matlock (Judy), Mark Hamilton Matlock (Sharon); sisters, Carolyn Susan Smith, Nancy Elaine Crocker; grandchildren, Alyssa Schooley, Lathan Dale Matlock, Jace Schooley, Daisy Matlock; numerous nieces and nephews.  Coffee County Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Ralph Roddy Jr., 87, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, at NHC in Tullahoma.  Visitation was from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 14, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  A Memorial Service followed at 12:30 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. Interment at Franklin Memorial Gardens. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
