After not taking part in the first two races of the season, Robert E. Lee Elementary School in Tullahoma fielded teams who competed last week in the Coffee County Elementary Cross-Country League.

Not only did they run in the race, but those Tullahoma teams dominated, having the top finishers on both the boys and girls side on Sept. 26. In fact, Robert E. Lee had a total of six of the top 10 finishers on the day in both divisions.

In the girls’ race, Brindley Duncan took the top spot for the Lady Lions, edging out Farrar’s Lizzy Sharpton who had took first in the prior two runs of the season. Brindley finished her race with a time of 5 minutes and 48.66 seconds.

Lizzy followed by putting up a 5:56.43. That time was the season-best for Lizzy, who shaved 30 seconds off her time from the last run on Sept. 11, which she ended at 6:26.2.

Harper McShea, from Robert E. Lee, took third place on the day, clocking in at 6:38.56. New Union had the next three finishers during the race. Chloe Hensiek placed fourth at 6:42.74, Jaydee Nogodula took fifth place at 6:47.13 and Allie Judge finished sixth at 6:59.42.

Reagan Goff, from College Street, placed seventh at 7:00.65. Lily Duckworth, from Robert E. Lee, finished eighth at 7:02.42. Reece Finch, from Westwood, took ninth at 7:06.17. Farrar’s Genia Stephens rounded out the top 10 performers in the girls’ race at 7:09.32.

In the team standings, New Union took first place in the girls division. Robert E. Lee finished second, while College Street placed third. North Coffee nabbed fourth place, while Westwood wound up in fifth.

On the boys’ side, Gage Allen took the top spot, finishing first for Robert E. Lee, finishing ahead of Westwood’s Ricardo Solorio, who had previously taken first in the previous two races. Gage clocked in at 5:45 to take the top spot on Sept. 26.

Ricardo finished his race in second at 5:55.18. This time, Ricardo was able to shave nearly 16 seconds off his race time, after previously finishing at 6:11.5 on Sept. 11.

Alex Miller, from Robert E. Lee took third place with a time of 5:57.42. Westwood’s Aiden Walker finished in fourth at 6:01.17. College Street’s Ty Deaton placed fifth at 6:04.

Westwood’s Brady Chrisian finished sixth at 6:10.92. Hillsboro’s Luke Lowe followed in seventh at 6:15.80. Ethan Reed, from East Coffee County, nabbed eighth at 6:16.62. Brody McShea, from Robert E. Lee, placed ninth at 6:20.13. New Union’s Easton Hinson rounded out the top 10 runners, with a time of 6:23.33.

In the team standings, Westwood took the top spot in the boys division. College Street placed second, while Farrar rounded out the top three teams. New Union placed fifth and Robert E. Lee took fifth place.
