The Tullahoma Middle School cross-country teams put up stellar outings at the Fayetteville Invitational held at Don Davidson Park on Tuesday afternoon.
The TMS girls team took first place overall at the race, while the TMS boys had the top finisher in its race, as Grant Fogle grabbed the top spot. The Tullahoma High School boys team also had a strong outing at the same meet, taking second out of 10 total teams racing on the day.
On the girls side, TMS was led by Jordyn Spry who finished fourth overall with a time of 11 minutes and 56 seconds. The TMS girls also had four other racers finish inside the top 10 on Tuesday.
Zoe Barnett placed seventh with an overall time of 12:29. Bella Rivera took eighth place at 12:30. Lexie Lester followed shortly in ninth at 12:32, while Mary Mason Jenkins nabbed 10th at 12:33. Brooklyn Hampton rounded out the runners for the TMS girls team, taking 18th at 15:26.
On the boys side, TMS didn’t have enough runners to field a team, put up three solid efforts. Grant Fogle nabbed first overall in the race, finishing the race in 10 minutes.
Jacob Hall added a seventh-place effort for the TMS Wildcats, clocking in at 11:15. Fisher Flowers rounded out the TMS runners in 18th at 12:37.
At the high school level, the THS boys had seven overall competitors led by Matt Qua who finished in 17th at 21:15. Tristan Bunch finished right behind his teammate in 18th, clocking in at 21:16.
Grant King placed 21st overall in the race with a time of 21:36. Andrew Brown took 23rd at 21:37. Spencer Yoder nabbed 29th at 22:22. Aidan Wagner finished in 34th at 22:43, while Justin Lemons rounded out the Wildcat runners in 65th at 26:05.
On the girls side, THS had four runners compete, led by Katherine Hills who placed 10th at 25:32. Meredith Fogle took 13th at 25:46, while Iskadar Dohrmann placed 27th at 28:40 and Emma Isley rounded out the Lady Wildcat runners in 51st at 32:31.
Prior to Tuesday’s race, the TMS teams traveled to take part in the Milton Invitational. Grant Fogle again led the TMS boys team, taking eighth overall with a time of 13:20.95.
Hall also ran for the TMS Wildcats, taking 54th at 14:52.83, while Flowers nabbed 87th at 17:58.49.
On the girls side, Spry led the TMS runners, taking 31st at 16:33.74. Lester placed 43rd at 17:24.11. Jenkins took 45th at 17:29.10. Rivera finished in 53rd at 17:45.96 and Barnett rounded out the TMS runners in 56th and a time of 17:54.11.
The THS teams were scheduled to travel to Columbia on Saturday. However, as of press time, the results of those races were unavailable.
Both the THS and TMS teams were then scheduled to take part in the Henry Horton Invitational this coming Saturday. As of press time, start time of those races were unavailable.
