At the end of July the East Lincoln Elementary archery team sent three students to take part in the 2019 National Archers in Schools Program (NASP) Championship in Nashville.

Ashley Scott, now an eighth-grader at East Middle School, also competed at the championship. The NASP Championship took place on July 25-27 at the Music City Center.

Scott competed in both the bulls-eye competition and the 3-D Tournament as well. Her performance in the bulls-eye part of the tournament, allowed her to be the only archer from Tennessee to place and receive an award.

In the bulls-eye tournament, Scott finished fifth out of 469 competitors in the girls division. Scott shot an overall score of 292 out of a possible 300 during that competition.

In the 3D Championship, Scott placed 35th out of 283 girls competing in the middle school girls division. Scott put up a score of 279 during the 3D Tournament.

East Lincoln had two archers compete in the 3D Championship. Trinity Carpenter led her team by finishing 25th out of 193 girls competing in the elementary division, finishing with a total score of 267 out of a possible 300. Olivia Nowak placed 41st overall, totaling a score of 262.

In the bulls-eye competition, Cesar Ibarra finished 115th out of 412 competitors in the elementary boys division. Ibarra put up a total score of 260.
