With two first-place individual performances and four top spots in relay races, the Tullahoma High School boys track and field team looked good in the Coffee County Invitational in Manchester last Thursday.
C.J. Harden took first place for the Wildcats in the 300-meter hurdles, while Logan Crouch finished first in the shot put. The THS boys also took first place in the 4x200 and 4x400 relays.
In the 300 hurdles, Harden took the top spot with an overall time of 46.20 seconds.
Crouch nabbed first place in the shot put, hurling a distance of 40 feet and 7 inches. Tydrell Mitchell placed sixth in the same event at 34-2. Cadden Bradford placed seventh at 33-9, while Brian Nelms took eighth at 32-10.
In the 4x400, Tullahoma teamed to finish first at 3:47.21. In the 4x200, the Wildcats nabbed the top spot with a time of 1:37.58.
The Wildcats also had a relay team take third on the day, finishing the 4x800 at 9:13:37.
In the 100 dash, Jared Sebourn led the Wildcats with a third-place effort, clocking in at 11.08. Corvion Fields finished sixth in the same race at 11.35, while Douglas Tilly placed 19th at 13.03.
Sebourn also took fourth in the 200 dash with a time of 23.14. Fields placed fifth in the same race at 23.41 and Tilly finished 12th at 26.13.
In the 400 dash, Anthony Wonder placed third at 55.39. Brandon Cluckey took fourth place at 56.21, while Steven Thompson finished seventh at 58.24.
On the girls side, Tullahoma saw three individuals place in the runner-up position. McKenna Buckner, Elise Sandlin and Natalie Nunn all finished second in their respective events.
In the 200 dash, Buckner took second with an overall time of 27.58. Willow Hobbs also ran in the same race, finishing third at 27.67. Amy Johnson took fifth at 28.24, while Izkadahr Dohrman placed 11th at 32.48.
Buckner also took fourth place in the high jump, clearing a height of 4-8. Annsley Vaughn finished 10th in the same event at 4-0.
Sandlin took second place in the 400 dash, clocking in with a time of 1:08.36.
In the 1,600 run, Nunn placed second at 6:08.14. Anna Parker took third in the same race at 6:17.36.
Kaylan Farrell took third place in the shot put, hurling a distance of 31-6. Ty Hardin finished sixth in the same event at 27-8. Az’Ja White finished seventh at 26-9, while Caroline McCullough placed 13th at 24-7 and Stashia Sims took 14th at 24-4.
Katharine Hills placed third in the 3,200 run, clocking in at 14:48.51.
The Lady Wildcats also saw two relay teams take first place in their respective races. Tullahoma’s 4x800 relay team finished with a time of 11:44.10. The THS 4x400 team, clocked in at 4:47.68.
Members of both THS teams were scheduled to take part in the pentathlon and decathlon at Soddy Daisy High School on Monday and Tuesday. However, as of press time, the result of those events were unavailable.
Both Tullahoma teams will take part in the Rotary-Rudy Hensel invitational meet at home on April 27. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
