While golf season is in full swing at Tullahoma, the other four varsity fall sports will have to wait until later this month to get their seasons underway.

With that said, each of the other sports will wrap up the final week of their preseasons with scrimmages this week. The THS football, cross-country, girls soccer and volleyball teams will each have at least one final tune-up before their respective seasons get underway.

While high school football season doesn’t start until Aug. 22, the Tullahoma Middle School team will open its season on Monday, facing off against Coffee County for the coveted Coffee Cup. The Wildcats will host the Red Raiders, with kickoff slated for 6:30 p.m.

With two scrimmages already in the book, the Tullahoma High School football team, will hold its annual Fan Feast scrimmage on Tuesday night. Last year, the Wildcats put together a historic season, finishing the year with an overall record of 10-3, making it to the quarterfinals of the TSSAA Playoffs.

On Tuesday, fans will be able to get an early preview of this year’s Wildcats’ team when they host Columbia Central. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m.

Tullahoma will open its regular season on Thursday, Aug. 22, with a trip to Shelbyville. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

After taking part in the Coffee County Play Day on Saturday, the Tullahoma girls soccer team will have two more scrimmages this week, both of them on the road.

The Lady Wildcats will first travel to Franklin County on Tuesday night. Tullahoma previously hosted the Rebelettes in late July, with the visiting team scoring a 1-0 victory.

Tullahoma will try to avenge that loss this Tuesday. Start of the varsity game is 7 p.m., with the junior varsity matchup slated to take place beforehand at 5 p.m.

The Lady Wildcats will then close its preseason with a matchup at Riverdale on Thursday. Kickoff of the varsity match is scheduled for 7 p.m., with the junior varsity contest taking place beforehand at 5 p.m.

Tullahoma will open its regular season on Aug. 19, traveling to Cascade. The Lady Wildcats won’t have to wait much longer before their first district game, traveling to Page on Aug. 21. On both days, kickoff of the varsity games is scheduled for 7 p.m., with the junior varsity starting at 5 p.m.

On the volleyball court, Tullahoma had a busy month of July, hosting its own play day, then traveling to both Coffee County and Waverly for a pair of play days.

This coming week, Tullahoma will host two final scrimmages. The Lady Wildcats will host Fayetteville City on Tuesday, with the junior varsity matchup slated for 4:30 p.m. and the varsity contest to follow. On Thursday, Tullahoma will conclude its preseason by welcoming in Shelbyville, with the JV matchup slated for 4 p.m. with the varsity contest slated to follow shortly afterwards.

Tullahoma will open the regular season on Aug. 19, with a tough first matchup, heading to Coffee County. Start time is slated for 4 p.m.

On Aug. 20, Tullahoma will host its first district match of the year, welcoming in Lawrence County. Those matches are scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

Tullahoma will close out its opening week by heading to Giles County on Aug. 22. Matches are slated to start at 5 p.m.

Both the Tullahoma High School and Middle School cross-country teams will close out their preseasons with the Cookeville Jamboree this coming Thursday. Start time is slated for 5 p.m.

The THS team will then open its regular season on Aug. 31, taking part in the Voyles Classic at Andrew Jackson Hermitage. Racing is slated to start at 8 a.m.

Both the THS teams and TMS teams will then take part in the Webb School MidWeek in Bell Buckle on Sept. 5. Racing is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.
