The Tullahoma Middle School girls’ cross-country team is coming off two strong performances last week.
On Sept. 17, the Lady Wildcats teamed to take first during the Fayetteville Invitational held at Don Davidson Park. Four days later, the TMS girls’ team combined to finish fourth at the Milton Invitational, which was hosted by Oakland High School.
During the Fayetteville Invitational, the Lady Wildcats combined to take first place with a combined 41 points. South Lawrence took second with 75 points, while North rounded out the top three teams competing with 121 points.
Jordyn Spry led the Tullahoma runners, taking first during the 2-mile run. Spry finished her run in a time of 11 minutes and 14 seconds.
Lexi Lester followed closely behind her at 11:28. Sara Eakin added a ninth-place performance, clocking in at 12:41. Ellie Uehlein took 11th at 12:53, while Madi Brown placed 17th at 13.23.
On the middle school boys’ side, Tullahoma had three runners compete. Bryson Campbell led the Wildcats, taking 11th and clocking in at 11:24. Brady Welch finished in 13th at 11:41, while Jona Carter placed 31st at 12:48.
At the high school level, both Tullahoma teams finished sixth in their respective divisions. The Lady Wildcats combined for a score of 173, while the Wildcats put up 195 points.
Gaia Rebeschi led the THS girls’ team, finishing 15th overall in the 3.1-mile race with a time of 25:30. Katharine Hills took 22nd at 26:48, while Elise Sandlin placed 38th at 30:22. Eleni Pisinos took 39th at 30:43. Grace Holmes finished 59th at 36:52, while Madelyn Hamilton rounded out the THS runners at 39:15.
On the boys’ side, Tullahoma was led by Andrew Brown, who took 17th overall with a time of 20:55. Petros Pisinos placed 30th at 22:15. Grant Fogle took 43rd at 23:32 and Franklin Zhang finished right behind him in 44th with a time of 23:34.
Spencer Yoder placed 61st at 24:58. John Ellis took 65th at 25:18. Grant Alley followed in 66th at 25:22. Travis Simson placed 74th at 26:00, while Carson Reed rounded out the Tullahoma runners at 26:15.
During the Milton Invitational on Sept. 21, it was just the middle school teams competing at that 2-mile run. The Lady Wildcats combined to place fourth with a team score totaling 119 points.
Mt. Juliet took the top team spot with 21 points. Blackman finished second with 95 points, while Rockvale rounded out the top three teams competing with 99 points.
Lester led the Tullahoma runners, finishing eighth out of 67 runners on the day. Lester finished her run with a time of 14:25.92.
Spry followed with a 10th-place effort at 14:36.71. Eakin finished in 23rd at 15:29.78. Uehlein took 49th at 17:06.55, while Brown rounded out the local runners at 17:10.84.
Tullahoma had just two boys compete at the invitational, led by Campbell who placed 46th out of 73 runners. Campbell clocked in at 14:29.63, while teammate Welch took 62nd at 15:23.34.
All four Tullahoma teams will next compete on Tuesday when it heads to Community High School to take part in the Community Invitational. Races are scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.
