Eleven Tullahoma swimmers recently competed at the Middle Tennessee High School Swimming Association Region Championships on Jan. 25 at the Centennial Sportsplex Pool in Nashville.
Based on her performance during the 100-yard freestyle, Abby West qualified for the state meet, which will be held at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. The two-day state meet is scheduled to open this Friday and conclude this Sunday at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
At the region meet, West placed finished in 30th place during the 100 freestyle to make it into state. She finished the race with an overall time of 59.56 seconds.
West also took part in the 50 freestyle, while where finished in 33rd. She finished that race with an overall time of 27.01.
Willow Hobbs also took part in the 50 freestyle and finished in 106th in that race. Hobbs clocked in at 29.73.
Katie Northcott took part in the 500 freestyle, place 31st. Northcott finished her race with a time of 6:21.14.
Gracie King took part in the 100 backstroke, where she finished 68th. She clocked in at 1:19.26.
Eleni Pisinos, Carolina McCullough, Hobbs and Northcott then teamed to compete in the 200 freestyle relay. The Lady Wildcats team finished in 31st with a time of 2:02.85.
West, Hobbs, King and Northcott teamed to place 19th in the 400 freestyle relay. The Lady Wildcats finished their race with an overall time of 4:35.74.
Tullahoma also fielded a boys 200 medley relay team which finished 29th. Will Luna, Kobe Guo, Copeland Rone and Turner Boudreaux clocked in with a time of 2:15.68.
Luna, Rone and Boudreaux also teamed with Fletcher Robertson to compete in the 200 freestyle relay. The Wildcats team finished in 32nd with a time of 1:52.13.
Rone also competed in the 50 freestyle, finishing in 135th. He finished with an overall time of 27.04.
Boudreaux placed 47th during the 100 butterfly. He clocked in with an overall time of 1:08.36.
Boudreaux also finished in 128th during the 100 freestyle with an overall time of 1:03.72.
