Just four weeks out from the start of the regular season, practices for high school football are reaching the home stretch.
After summer workouts, traveling to multiple camps and 7-on-7 matchups, Tullahoma will get to see live competition on Friday afternoon. The Wildcats will head to The University of the South, where they will take on Walker Valley in an annual scrimmage at Sewanee. Kickoff for Friday’s exhibition is scheduled for 1 p.m.
That won’t be Tullahoma’s only tuneup of the presason. On Aug. 3, the Wildcats will host their annual Fan Feast Scrimmage, where fans can come out to Wilkins Stadium and get a firsthand look at this year’s team. Tullahoma will host Warren County during that matchup, which is scheduled to get underay at 7 p.m.
The Wildcats will then conclude the preseason by facing a once-familiar opponent. Tullahoma will have its final scrimmage on Aug. 7 when it heads to Columbia.
The Wildcats and Lions and used to be foes, battling in District 8-AAA, but the two teams have not played at the varsity level since 2014. Start time for the exhbition matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m.
Tullahoma will kickoff the regular season on Aug. 16, when it hosts Shelbyville. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
