St. Stephen’s welcomes new Rector

St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Tullahoma has welcomed a new Rector.  He is the Rev. Matthew Mezzatesta, 33, of Chapel Hill.

Father Mezzatesta (pronounced Mez-ah-test-ah) began serving the congregation in his official capacity on February 1, 2026.  He completed his seminary training and was ordained into the priesthood on January 31, 2026, in a ceremony at Christ Church Cathedral in Monteagle.

“We welcome everyone to St. Stephen’s and our goal is to introduce people to Jesus Christ via our liturgy.” said Father Mezzatesta.

Father Mezzatesta graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and holds a Juris Doctorate degree from the Nashville School of Law.

The Anglican Church is a Protestant denomination with traditional teachings.  St. Stephen’s Anglican Church is located at 601 W. Grundy Street in Tullahoma.  Father Mezzatesta leads both Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. and Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.  The website is www.saintstphensanglican.com.
