Do you know where the phrase “out of sorts” is actually derived? According to grammarist.com, “Typographers and printers used the word “sorts” to describe the set of letters that they used to print things. They would usually have them in alphabetical order, obviously for ease. But when a letter was out of place, they’d say it was “out of sorts.”  God placed this phrase on my heart over the weekend as we were all stuck inside due to the weather, but I knew He was asking me to dig deeper. There is a shift in our nation and even in our community right now that feels “out of sorts”.

We have never been in this place before and discovering how we are to navigate the darkness has my spirit on very high alert. If you claim to be a Christian, I earnestly hope that you have been praying diligently for discernment during this season. What has God been revealing to you? Does it seem crazy or unimaginable? If so, I encourage you to keep digging into those downloads. I have been discovering that things are just not what they seem, people are not who they claim to be and that some who claim to be followers of Christ are far from behind closed doors. I have said many times that it feels as though this reality is truly just a facade – fake. How do we combat the feeling of being out-of-sorts you may ask? Get in God’s word! Although I know the Book of Revelation is daunting to say the least, it is truly where you will find the most comfort for what we are facing today. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8.

I was listening to a podcast over the weekend, and they were discussing the evil of today specifically the evil attack on our most vulnerable, our children. How many of us are so trusting and those “perfect handshakes” no longer send alarms over our spirits? It was a reminder to never take those moments of feeling “out of sorts” lightly – especially if you have been gifted discernment and truly walk in God’s will. This relaxed mindset is what has caused the evil to continue to infiltrate every area of our nation from schools, courtrooms, board rooms, social media and beyond. God is the author of order and just as if one of those letter sorts were out of place, then the entire system was off. Maybe you feel like it is too late, the handshake was already done, but I can promise you that it is never too late to go to your war room and ask God to bring light into darkness. It takes every single part of the body of Christ to stand against the vast perversion that is taking place in our communitas and nation. The future generations are depending on your voice, your tenacity and your grit to stare evil in the face and demand it to flee. If you feel something out of sorts, trust that God has an assignment just for you – how will you proceed?

I pray we each have the courage to see that misaligned piece in our personal lives, within our communities, workplaces and even in our nation and charge the throne for the sake of order. It is time you get to work and pray specifically that God remove the evil agendas, people and powers from areas that don’t align with the Word of God in every area of your life.

“And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.” Revelation 2:3.
