Two retire from hospital advisory board

Rich Ellis, President of Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital, has announced two members of the hospital’s Advisory Board terms have expired.

Jim Lane, Tullahoma attorney and hospital Advisory Board Chair for the past 10 years and member for over 25 years, and Dr. Oladapo Omitowoju, also an Advisory Board member for over 25 years, have both recently retired from the board.

Under HMA and CHS ownership of the hospital, the Board served as the governing body for the hospital. The Board’s scope of responsibility included both the medical staff and clinical quality within the hospital. Board members provided critical input about the services offered, capital funding requests, patient satisfaction and community needs.

After the acquisition of the hospital by Vanderbilt University Medical Center, the Board transitioned to serving in an advisory role, maintaining its vital mission of sharing physician and community input with hospital leadership. The Advisory Board also serves as a sounding board for planning and supporting the hospital in its efforts to provide excellent care and service.

According to Ellis, “Lane has provided critical leadership and guidance during multiple hospital ownership changes including the transition to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.”

Ellis also recognized the contributions of Dr. Omitowoju. “In addition to serving on the hospital board, Dr. Omitowoju has provided nephrology medical care in Tullahoma for over 27 years. He has displayed the highest level of clinical professionalism and compassion to his patients and his teammates.”

At the most recent Advisory Board meeting, Ellis thanked both Mr. Lane and Dr. Omitowoju for their tireless efforts in the support of the hospital and their years of dedicated service.
