TCS sees 33 singers named to TN Treble Honor Choir

Tullahoma City Schools recently learned some exciting news, as 33 singers from across the district were selected to the Tennessee Treble Honor Choir.
The Tennessee Treble Honor Choir is an auditioned chorus composed of fifth and sixth-grade students from across the state. In April, members will rehearse and perform at the Opryland Hotel and Resort in Nashville. After a full day of rehearsals on Friday, April 10, the event will conclude with a concert on Saturday, April 11.
“Having this record number of students chosen to the state treble choir is a testament to the dedication of our teachers, the hard work of our students and the strong support of our schools and families,” said Sarah McVey, TCS Fine Arts Coordinator and Bel-Aire music teacher. “Moments like this strengthen the foundation of our music programs and fuel continued growth and excellence for years to come. TCS couldn’t be prouder of these young musicians and the educators who guide them.”
Bel-Aire Elementary School had nine fifth-grade students make the TN Treble Honor Choir. Those students are Ashley Smith, Izzy Morgan, Kole Stewart, Aubrey Fleck, Talia McMurray, Layla-Belle Miller, Penelope Goodman, Kylie Prince and Lukas Jackson.
Jack T. Farrar Elementary School had seven students named to the chorus. Those students are Ella HIce, Chamila Scott, Lilah Norris, Scarlett Osbourne, Cora Burrough, Evelyn Smith and Juliana Stroop.
Four East Lincoln Elementary School students were named to the Treble Honor Choir, as Madison Walls, Lily Taylor, Celeste Locke and Morgan Craig were all selected. Robert E. Lee Elementary School also saw Forrest Chelstorp chosen for the chorus.
East and West Middle Schools each had six students selected to the Tennessee Treble Honor Choir. Representing East Middle School are Hazel Gibson, Imain Smith, Dillon Bennett, Maiya Green, Haleigh Jackson and Ester Ayala. The West Middle School students are Connor Smith, Charlotte Womack, Abby Collins, Trey Cole, McKenzie Gurien and Jurni Adkisson.
“To have 33 fifth and sixth-grade students make the Tennessee Treble Honor Choir is absolutely outstanding,” said TCS Director of Schools Dr. Catherine Stephens. “This news further highlights our incredible choir programs in the district, as well as the dedication of these students and their teachers. Congratulations to these singers, their teachers and their families.”
