Lady Wildcats fall short against Providence Christian

The Lady Wildcats basketball team was unfortunately unable to bounce back from their loss to Coffee County Central, adding another loss to their 2025-2026 season. They lost to Providence Christian High School on Nov. 25, falling 52-39.
The Lady Wildcats now sit early in the season with a record of 2-2, picking up their second loss in a row. In this game against Providence, they fell behind early, as the scoreboard showed a 19-11 lead for the opposing Lady Lions after the conclusion of the first quarter. Tullahoma, who was plagued by some poor shooting in the game prior against the Lady Red Raiders, woes from the field showed back up again in the second quarter of this bout. They were outscored 14-4 in the period, which essentially wrote this game off for Tullahoma, as the Lady Wildcats then trailed 33-15 going into the second half. This team is extremely talented and youthful; they just have to work out a couple of things to get back in the win column. Here is what Head Coach of the Lady Wildcats Chad Hibdon believes are the main areas his team needs to improve on.
“Getting to our spots and having better spacing and movement on offense. On the defensive side, being connected defensively by being in the right positions and stance! We also must do much better on the defensive boards.”
One of the bright spots for Tullahoma in this game was the play of sophomore Zoie Roberts. She had her best offensive game in her time on the varsity Tullahoma squad, scoring eight points. Six of these points came from behind the arc for Roberts, as she knocked down a three in both the first and third quarters. Roberts, as a player this year, has also shown her ability to play make, and could be a piece that can help bolster one of the areas Hibdon believes the team needs improvement–movement on offense.
A couple of other solid performances for Tullahoma in this game were from freshman Gena Hickerson and senior McLayne Bobo. Hickerson had six points in this game, while Bobo led Tullahoma in scoring with 11. This marks the second game in a row for the first-year player Hickerson, where she has had six or more points in a game.
The next two games for the Lady Wildcats will be against Shelbyville Central on Dec. 2 and against Lincoln County on Dec. 5–both of these matchups will be road games.
