South Jackson Performing Arts Center is preparing for its annual Christmas series of events, Christmas at South Jackson. With this holiday season at South Jackson comes six main events that everyone in Tullahoma and abroad are invited to attend.

Starting on Dec. 3, South Jackson’s first event will kick off the season with Trees of Christmas, which will last through Dec. 7. Admission will be $5. Starting on Nov. 23, businesses and organizations will be able to sponsor a tree by adding decorations. This year, proceeds from Trees of Christmas go to Coffee County Humane Society, a nonprofit with the mission of caring for pets across the county in low-income communities. Executive Director of the South Jackson Performing Arts Center Greg Gressel said, “We felt the need to give back to the community.”

Visitors will be able to vote on their favorite tree, with the winners being announced in six categories, People’s Choice, Best Theme, Most Creative, Best Christmas Spirit, and Best Tree Topper/Final d’abre. Also during this time, the revamped Fine Arts Center will be open for all to attend.

The next event will begin on Dec. 4, where at 5:30 p.m., the City Christmas Tree will be lit during the Grand Marshall Reception. There will be various musical performances as well, with live music including the Middle School student choir. The following day on Dec. 5, the Jingle Mingle Parade After Party will be hosted immediately after the Tullahoma City Christmas Parade, with the bar being open for attendees.

On Dec. 6 from noon to 8 p.m., the annual Christkindlmarkt will host shops in its open-air market within the Christmas theme including food trucks, individual vendors, and more. In addition, the Cabin will be open with live music, Christmas carolers, and Santa being on site.

In the following weeks, two important South Jackson traditions will be hosted, starting with their production of “Holiday Inn”, happening on the second and third weekends of December, going from the 12th to 14th and 19th and 21st. During this period, the years-long tradition of screening “It’s a Wonderful Life” at South Jackson will be happening on Dec. 16.

During the entirety of Christmas at South Jackson, gift cards, Christmas ornaments, calendars, and more will be for sale at the Center. Gressel said, “We want to be a part of Tullahoma’s Christmas Traditions.”
