Tullahoma girls’ basketball district overview
GRAY DEYOSports Writer
With out-of-conference play about to come to an end, here is a look at what the other four teams in the Tullahoma girls’ basketball district have done so far this season. The Lady Wildcats officially kick off district play on Jan. 13.
Lawrence County
The season so far for the Lawrence County girls’ team has been up and down. Currently, they have a 6-6 record and have won two of their last three games. The only comparable to judge where they are as a team compared to Tullahoma is how Lawrence played against Lincoln County High School.
On Nov. 24, Lawrence lost to Lincoln by a score of 40-37. On Dec. 5, Tullahoma Beat Lincoln 36-34.
Tullahoma last season beat Lawrence twice in three meetings.
Franklin County
Last season, Franklin County had one of the better seasons in Tullahoma’s district, as they finished as runners-up in the district tourney, where they lost to Tullahoma. The Lady Rebels, as of now in the 2025-2026 season, after a slow start, are starting to string together some good games. They have won three of their last four contests.
Franklin County has a lot of good players on its roster this year, one of them being junior Gracen Baggett. She has proven to be one of the better perimeter shooters in the district, already logging several games with two or more made threes. This includes a game at Deshler High School where she had four made threes and had 19 total points.
Last year, Tullahoma in three meetings against Franklin County won two times.
Marshall County
Following a subpar season last year, Marshall County is playing at that same level early in this season. In the year, they currently have a record of 4-6. They have been in better form as of late, winning their last two games.
The Lady Tigers will look to figure out how to get in the win column this year against the Lady Wildcats, a feat they struggled mightily to accomplish in the 2024-2025 season. In two meetings last year, the Lady Wildcats beat Marshall in both games. Tullahoma’s defense in these games was at a high level, as they held Marshall to 22 and 33 points in the two contests.
Giles County
Out of all the teams in Tullahoma’s district, Giles County has the highest win percentage so far. They currently have a record of 6-3. This is similar to their start to last year, before they hit a cold spell in the win column. In the 2024-2025 season, they won seven of their first nine games before entering district play and finishing in last with a record of 2-8.
In the two games Tullahoma played against Giles last year, they won both games both by single digits.
