Want to win $100 cash? Shop local

The Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce has introduced a program designed to encourage residents to shop local.

According to Chamber Executive Director Hope Nunley, “Save your receipts from any business in the 37388 zip code and drop the receipts off at the Chamber office before December 15th to be entered to win,”

Nunley advises when you drop off your receipts make sure your name and phone number are on the receipts. Every purchase made in the 37388 zip code is eligible including gifts, gas and groceries.

Five lucky winners will each receive a reusable tote bag with $100 cash inside the bag.

The Chamber office is located at 135 West Lincoln Street.

Nunley reminds the community the importance of shopping local. “This holiday season, I encourage everyone to explore the unique shops and businesses we have right here in Tullahoma. Local businesses are the heart of our community and your support makes a difference. Every dollar spent at a local business is an investment in the Tullahoma community. When you shop local, you’re supporting your neighbors, creating jobs and helping our city thrive.”

Kelly North, Executive Director of The Tullahoma Area Economic Development Corp., emphasized the point. “Every dollar spent at a local business sets off a ripple effect that strengthens our entire community. According to a study by Civic Economics, for every $100 spent at a locally owned business, approximately $68 stays in the community. That recirculated spending supports local jobs, our schools and public services; the very things that make Tullahoma thrive. In small communities like ours, shopping local isn’t a feel-good slogan, it is one of the most efficient economic development strategies we have.”
