Following is a group of numbers shaping Tullahoma.

Sales tax collections remain strong in August although not as strong as previous months. In August 2025, sales tax collections were $1,580,669.59 compared to $1,546,958.87 in August 2024, an increase of 2.18%.

Tennessee’s sales taxes are generally collected on the retail sale, rental or lease of most tangible goods like clothing, electronics, furniture or jewelry. Sales taxes are also collected when a company makes investments in infrastructure and equipment.

For the first three months of the City government’s fiscal year, sales tax collections are up 11.2% over the first three months of last year.

In August, Manchester sales were up 4.19% over 2024 and Coffee County sales were up 6.67% over 2024.

In September, thirteen companies received business licenses from Tullahoma City government. Of those, five appear to be out of town contractors doing business in Tullahoma. Six new businesses appear to be home-based based on their business address. The remaining two businesses have store fronts.

Unemployment in Coffee County continues to decrease. The state does not provide employment stats by city. In August, 2025, Coffee County’s unemployment rate was 3.6%. In July 2025, the unemployment rate was 4.5%. In August 2024, the unemployment rate was 3.6%. According to the State, 985 persons were unemployed in Coffee County in August.

Unemployment rates decreased in every county in Tennessee in August. The lowest county was Sevier at 2.7%, the highest Perry at 5.4%.

The Tullahoma Safety and Codes Department issued 44 building permits in September for a total of $15,503,667 in new development. Five new home permits were issued.

Joe Denby pulled a permit for $2,682,926 for townhomes on South Atlantic Street. A permit for the Reserve at Katewood on Cedar Lane was pulled for $6,503,667.

In September 3025, the City government collected $38,466.12 in Hotel/Motel Lodging Tax, an increase of 33% over September 2024.

Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors reports there were 49 new single family homes listed in Tullahoma in September. This is 15 less than September 2024. The total inventory of homes stood at 219 in September. The average sales price for a home in Tullahoma in September was $339,302, a 17% increase over September 2024. There were 35 homes sold in September with an average days on the market of 57 days.
