The City of Tullahoma proclaimed “Support Your Local Chamber of Commerce Day” recently, praising the work the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce does to make Tullahoma a better place to live and visit.
“Chambers of commerce foster strong, more vibrant communities by advocating for priorities to promote economic prosperity, boost quality of life and create access to meaningful employment and opportunity for all residents,” Mayor Lynn Sebourn read from the proclamation during the recent board of mayor and alderman meeting. “The Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1921, serves as a vital organization supporting the growth and development of businesses in Tullahoma and its surrounding areas.”
He pointed out the Chamber is responsible for many of the area’s favorite events like Women Impacting the Community and the annual Christmas Parade.
Chamber Director Hope Nunley thanked the city for the recognition and praised her staff for what they have accomplished despite just having three on staff.
“Every day strive to serve our community and make Tullahoma a place where people want to live, work and visit,” said Chamber Director Hope Nunley. “Over the last eight years our membership has grown from 327 to 500 members.”
She noted that their social media footprint has also grown, now getting over 544,000 views. The local Chamber was also named Chamber of the Year for the state this year.
