With the date and theme pinned down, the 69th annual Tullahoma Christmas Parade, sponsored by Stan McNabb Automotive, is still looking to find this year’s Grand Marshal.
Public nominations are being accepted for the Grand Marshal from now until Tuesday, Oct. 7, at midnight.
According to the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce (TACC), nominees for Grand Marshal will be selected based on contributions to the quality of life in the Tullahoma area, through civic and social services; humanitarianism; personal achievements in the areas of the arts, sports, etc.; or based on the distinction that they have brought to Tullahoma resulting from achievements elsewhere. Nominees should also be a current or long-term past resident of the Tullahoma area.
The Grand Marshal will be announced at the end of the month at the October Chamber Coffee, which will be held at the South Jackson Performing Arts Center. According to TACC Executive Director Hope Nunley, the chamber has received over 65 nominations. Once selected, the Grand Marshal will be honored with a reception on Thursday, Dec. 4, hosted at and sponsored by South Jackson Performing Arts Center. The 69th annual Tullahoma Christmas Parade will take place on Friday, Dec. 5. This year’s Christmas parade theme is “There’s Snow Place like Home,” which was submitted by Robert E. Lee Elementary School student Willa McKee.
