Toy Convoy hits the road Sunday

Hundreds of vehicles of every size, shape and color are joining the 29th Highway 41 Toy Convoy & Show on Sunday, Nov. 2.
Motorcycles, Hot Rods, jeeps, vans, trucks, rat rods, big rigs, dump trucks, police cars and fire trucks are coming in from across the South to make this the largest ever toy convoy.
Firetrucks from Manchester, Hickerson Station, Hillsboro, New Union, Summitville, North Coffee, Wartrace, Bell Buckle and Bedford County Fire Trucks are planning to join the convoy.
Lineup begins at 9 a.m. at the Raiders Academy 865 McMinnville Hwy in Manchester. The convoy rolls at noon with a police escort will travel out Hwy 41 to Beech Grove, turning west on 64 over to Wartrace to Winette Ayers Park in Wartrace.
Each person is asked to please bring a new unwrapped toy or two to help brighten Christmas for the kids. Admission is only $10 per vehicle or $20 if you enter the Car, bike, Jeep, truck show.
Twenty plus trophies will be given to the winners, including, most patriotic vehicle and the young at heart award. All show entries must register in Manchester and ride in the convoy. No entries will be taken in Wartrace.
CSX is all aboard the convoy and will be stopping the train in Wartrace to let the convoy roll. Air Evac Life Team 44 will be flying in for the afternoon. The Coffee County team was recently ranked as one of the top 3 bases in the US.
Grand Marshal is Roger Piggot, ICEMAN of Iceman TV productions who will be leading the convoy and is also bringing in a film crew who will be filming for his new series, American 250 Patriot Nation TV that will air internationally next summer. Special guest 15-year-old Webb Schmidt, will be taking the stage with Virgil T & the Uncle Tom Band. Webb will be playing the National Anthem and the band will be doing an Allman Brothers tribute which is a crowd favorite.
A long-time tradition of the convoy is that everyone is asked to please fly an American flag to salute the military and first responders and our country! Please make sure the flags are secure as we will hit speeds up to 50 mph.
The convoy will travel from the school up to Highway 41 turning north. They will travel with several police escorts out to Beech Grove to Hwy 64 and turn west through horse country to the park in Wartrace.
The public is invited to bring their chairs out along the route with their flags and enjoy this wonderful display of patriotism and good will. Santa and Mr. Claus will be on hand to visit with the kids. Food trucks will be available at the park.
Winette Ayers Park is reserved for show entries only. The motorcycles will park down the walking trail. Non show participants will park across the road at the horse show grounds, straight across the street.
Organizer Katy Ishee reported, “Please do NOT send money to anyone online as I was informed of a scam using my maiden name (Katy Olliff) and my picture and the woman claiming she was me and to send her $30 per vehicle. We do not have an online account.”

The toys will be distributed through Steve Graves/Gene Taylor Christmas Foundation and Coffee County Rescue, Manchester Police Dept., Wartrace and Bell Buckle Fire Departments
