Lane closures on North Jackson, Wilson Avenue postponed
PREVIOUS STORY: The Tennessee Department of Transportation and the city of Tullahoma have announced that it will be closing lanes at the intersection of North Jackson Street and Wilson Avenue as part of the Wilson Avenue widening project.
According to officials, the TDOT Wilson Avenue widening project will be closing a southbound outside lane on North Jackson Street and the westbound lane on Wilson Avenue in front of Oakwood Cemetery.
“This work is part of the ongoing road widening project and has been scheduled during the THS fall break to minimize traffic impact as much as possible,’ officials said.
The lane closures will begin on Monday, Oct. 6, at 6 a.m. to Monday, Oct. 13, at 6 a.m. Both roads will still be passable in both directions during this phase and drivers can still turn onto Wilson Avenue from North Jackson Street. However, drivers are asked to be aware of new and shifting traffic patterns, and the presence of equipment and road workers.
“Expect short traffic delays, drive safely, and find alternate routes, when possible, to avoid the area,” officials said.
