Residents and art lovers alike can enjoy an evening of the arts and supporting local businesses with this year’s Downtown Tullahoma Arts Crawl this Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The annual event showcases various performing and visual artists to celebrate all different disciplines of artistry in the community. This year, over 20 local businesses will transform their businesses into galleries and stages as 63 local and regional artists will be displaying their work, ranging from vocal and instrumental to watercolor, acrylic, oil, potter and so on, and interacting with the public by holding demonstrations and performances of their craft.
This year, over 20 local businesses will transform their businesses into galleries and stages as over 55 artists from all over the region showcase their talent to residents.
“From painting and photography to pottery, sculpture, and live demonstrations—there’s something inspiring around every corner,” Tullahoma Arts Council officials said. “Let’s come together to celebrate the arts, support our local artists–businesses–restaurants, and see downtown Tullahoma come alive with creativity.”
While he was accepting a proclamation for National Arts and Humanities Month from the Tullahoma Board of Mayor and Aldermen, Arts Council member Greg Gressel said this year’s Downtown Tullahoma Arts Crawl was a record year with the number of both businesses serving as venues and for the number of artists participating.
“If you think about the fact that 63 is only a representation of what we actually have within the city, you understand why the arts are so important to our city,” Gressel said to the board at the Oct. 13 meeting. “Thanks for your support.”
The Tullahoma Arts Council holds public meetings on the third Thursday each month at Tullahoma City Hall beginning at 3:15 p.m. Residents can engage with the Tullahoma Arts Council on their website at www.tullahomaartscouncil.com or by email at tullahomaartscouncil@gmail.com.
