Golf team continues big season

The Tullahoma golf team has had a great 2025 season. Posting low scores, top finishes at events, you name it. Here is a recap of the Wildcats’ year thus far.

The 2025 season for the Tullahoma High School golf team got off to a great start. Back in July, the team showed well at their first event at the Lawrenceburg Opening Day Invitational. At the event, the team submitted a fifth-place overall finish out of 13 teams. Junior Alex Miller showed that he can do many things other than play point guard for the Wildcats basketball program by submitting a second-place individual finish. He was regarded as one of the better high school golfers in the TN area headed into 2025, and was nominated as the early-season Nashville Ponce Law boys’ player of the year. Much of the thought of his nomination was based on how he performed in the district tournament last season. He had a 75 average score at the tournament.

Fast forwarding in the season to late August, Tullahoma defended its team championship in 2024 by winning a tournament hosted by Hardin County. The Wildcats came up clutch in the event, posting their lowest combined score of the season—308. Leading the Wildcat pack was senior Brody Fulmer, posting a personal best -2 under par 70. This score was huge in helping Tullahoma grab the team dub, and was good enough to give Fulmer a 1st place finish in the individual competition.

This month, on Sept 2, the Wildcats competed in the Keith Maxwell Invitational. The overall team competed solidly, finishing in fifth place with a combined score of 336. Miller had a huge day at the event, posting a 73, which gave him a share of the 1st place individual podium, with Hud Mattox from Lawrence County.

The Tullahoma boys are tearing it up this year on the golf course. It will be exciting to see what they can accomplish when they enter district tournament play and beyond.
