My husband and I made the decision to move to Tullahoma from Virginia last year. My oldest child is a freshman at Tullahoma High School. Our heritage is Iranian, but we are Christians.

I am saddened, appalled, and angry that the Tullahoma School Board would ignore incendiary and hateful comments made by a teacher at THS. My child will never step foot in her classroom. There is no room in a place of learning for the vile and disgusting things she said regarding a man’s death.

Shame on Tullahoma for ignoring an opportunity to teach our children that while you have a right to say what you wish, those words can have consequences. All you have done is emboldened nastiness and INTOLERANCE. Taking someone’s words out of context and using that as an excuse to attack and defame a dead man is nothing short of shameful.
