Former player on the Tullahoma girls’ basketball team and 2024 graduate, Lily Melton, announced that she has received an offer from the University of Coker.

Melton, in her freshman season, put up some impressive stats for the Lady Chargers, averaging 15.2 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game. She showed what she was able to do at the college juco level and proved that she could be successful at a higher division. She had big scoring performances throughout the season, just as she did in her time at THS. Against Cleveland State Community College on Nov. 23, she dropped a career high of 42 points. In this contest, she displayed her versatility, scoring from the paint and behind the arc–making five of her eleven attempts from three.

Melton and the rest of the Lady Chargers submitted a good overall season record going 17-11 overall.

Melton’s offered school, Coker University, finished with an outstanding overall record of 29-6 at the Division II level in the 2024-2025 season. Whatever is the next step in Melton’s career it will be fun to watch her continue to develop as a player at the college level. The 2024 Tullahoma graduate has also received offers from UT Southern, Cumberland, and Montreat University.

Melton did not transfer to Coker University as stated in Wednesday’s paper she had just received an offer from the Lady Cobras’ program.
